Responsible for the Safety, Health, and Environmental compliance for the site by playing a pivotal role to ensure the adherence to safety regulations, conduct risk assessments, and foster a safety conscious culture. Manage environmental standards, oversee waste disposal, and monitor the plants environmental impact. Assist in preventing accidents and maintaining a healthy work environment by contributing significantly to the site efficiency and sustainability. Liaise with regulatory bodies and providing safety training to staff. Contribute to the site’s operations and its commitment to environmental sustainability.
About the role
In this role, you will develop and manage the EHS Management system, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance with SHE legislation. You will report system performance to management, support SHE strategy implementation, and contribute to developing the company culture. Key responsibilities include monitoring SHE performance, providing expert advice, and ensuring legal compliance.
You will collaborate with senior management, oversee sub-contractor work, conduct risk assessments, and perform site audits. Additionally, you will manage training programs, maintain incident records, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Developing and updating SHE policies and supporting health and safety training are also essential duties.
About you
You have achieved a Level 3 qualification in a relevant discipline and are currently working towards a Level 6 qualification. Accreditation to IOSH Technician is either completed or in progress. You possess essential experience in implementing and monitoring safe systems of work within the manufacturing sector and have a strong understanding of SHE legislation and management systems.
Your analytical skills enable you to identify patterns and make logical connections in various situations. Highly motivated and adept at integrating with teams, you also bring sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Flexibility to meet business needs, coupled with a charismatic and dynamic personality, allows you to engage openly with staff and inspire them.
