    About the Role

    As an Area Sales Manager in our Independent free trade team, you'll blend your passion for wine with an exceptional commercial acumen. You'll be responsible for growing margin and revenue by building and nurturing relationships with discerning customers, suppliers, and stakeholders. You’ll develop tailored business plans and implement strategies that deliver profitable growth and elevate Bibendum's presence in the market. 

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Build a high-quality prospect list to grow our customer base and maximise business opportunities within a specific geographical patch.
    • Leverage relationships: Develop and nurture partnerships with clients, providing bespoke wine solutions and unparalleled service to meet their evolving needs.
    • Collaborate with leading producers, adding value to every interaction and helping elevate their standing in the market.
    • Achieve success: Meet budgeted margins, revenue, and volume targets while working closely with each account to ensure mutually profitable growth.
    • Operational excellence: Monitor stock levels, ensure timely forecasting and planning, and manage pricing and accruals to ensure smooth, efficient operations.
    • Provide training: Deliver wine education and training at site level, helping customers and teams enhance their knowledge and appreciation of wine.

    To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

    A successful track record in sales within the drinks industry.
    WSET Level 3 in Wine (or higher) to demonstrate your deep understanding of wine.
    Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and influencing skills, with a talent for developing high-value, long-term partnerships.
    Analytical and organisational abilities to manage forecasting, pricing, and reporting.
    A proactive, entrepreneurial spirit to seize opportunities and grow Bibendum’s wine presence across the London on trade.
