  • About the Role 

    An exciting Senior opportunity now exists to join the Group finance team here at C&C Group. The successful applicant will be a technically astute qualified accountant with relevant post qualified experience. You will be responsible for the completion of the Group’s annual and interim report and statutory accounts for subsidiary entities.  You will be the main point of contact for the external auditors. This is a small team in which the successful applicant will gain significant experience with potential future progression opportunities.

    Key Accountabilities

    • To work cross functionally to successfully complete the Group’s Annual Report, preliminary announcement and Interim Report to deadline (including ownership of the primary financial statements and notes and related reports);
    • Completion and ownership of complex technical areas of accounting such as acquisition and disposal accounting, associate and JV accounting, PPE revaluation, share based payments, earnings per share, hedge accounting, defined benefit pension accounting and FX, including the preparation of detailed technical memoranda for auditors and internal stakeholders as required;
    • Ownership of Group consolidation journals, including reconciliation of audited statutory accounts to consolidation system post year end;
    • Lead finance workstream on Group ESG reporting in conjunction with ESG and other colleagues;
    • Support finance colleagues across the business on complex/non-routine accounting matters;
    • Prepare budget and quarterly forecasts for areas of responsibility, including share options, defined benefit pensions, finance fees, etc
    • Ensure the Group remains fully prepared and then compliant with new IFRS accounting standards as they need to be adopted;
    • Mentor and support direct report;
    • Key point of contact for the Group’s external auditors to ensure the seamless completion of the year end audit to deadline;
    • Completion of trading entity statutory accounts in line with agreed reporting
    • Timetables in conjunction with finance colleagues; and
    • Undertake ad-hoc projects as required.

    About you 

    • Qualified chartered accountant, preferably attained in a Big 4 firm, with relevant post qualification experience. PLC experience would be advantageous;
    • Technically astute with a detailed up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and IFRS;
    • Strong analytical ability and excellent numerical skills, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail;
    • Proven experience and ability to work to tight deadlines with a drive for results;
    • Flexible self-starter with a high level of initiative and a team player with strong communication skills;
    • Excellent IT skills and full proficiency in Microsoft Office (in particular, an advanced Excel capability).
